Barrier-free beaches on Langeoog Island
Langeoog's 14 km long sandy beach offers the best conditions for a beach and bathing holiday. The beach wheelchair fleet of the Langeoog Tourism Service also enables people with limited mobility to experience the beach.
The fleet includes:
- motorised beach wheelchair (please contact the Tourism Service staff on telephone no. 04972 / 693 - 246, as instruction in its use is necessary)
- Beach wheelchair (with parasol) suitable for driving on the sand. Thanks to its balloon tyres, it can be pushed along the water's edge easily. Due to the balloon tyres, it can only be used with a strong accompanying person.
- Beach wheelchair, comfortable supplement to the beach wheelchair, not intended for long distances.
These vehicles can be borrowed free of charge from the DLRG lifeguards during the bathing season (01.05.-30.09.). In the early and late season, you can obtain the beach wheelchair from the spa and wellness centre on presentation of your LangeoogCard (deposit).
