Augustinian Monastery

The monastery and the church of the Augustinian hermits were built around 1300. Today this monastery is a memorial to Luther and serves as an internationally renowned conference centre.

Martin Luther, the famous Augustinian monk, was admitted to the monastery in 1505. He stayed here until 1511. It is said that Erfurt was the young Luther's spiritual home.
