Audioguide Stadtrundgang

Annweiler am Trifels

The lovingly restored town center around the tanners' houses along the Queich River offers beautiful places to stroll and stop for a bite to eat. The Staufer town is overlooked by the famous imperial castle Trifels and the ruins of Anebos and Scharfenberg.

Annweiler was first mentioned in documents in 1116/1118. In 1219, the Hohenstaufen ruler Frederick II elevated it to the status of a free imperial city. This makes it the second oldest town in the Palatinate after Speyer.

The audio guide city tour offers those interested in history around 30 minutes of spoken information at 12 stations in the historic old town of Annweiler.
