Urttalsperre - Talsperrenlandschaft im und um den Nationalpark Eifel

The Eifel

pure nature experience

Fire, water, air and earth – few regions in Germany reflect these four natural elements as strongly as the Eifel. Located in western Germany, between Aachen, Trier and Koblenz, this upland landscape is shaped by ancient volcanoes, deep river valleys, mysterious moorlands and striking rock formations.

Large parts of the Eifel are protected today. The Eifel National Park, the UNESCO Global Geopark Vulkaneifel, and several nature parks help preserve this unique landscape and make it accessible for visitors.

Whether you explore the Eifel on foot, by bike, or in your own way – the region offers many ways to connect with nature. Popular routes like the 300-kilometre Eifelsteig from Aachen to Trier or the Vennbahn, a long-distance cycle route on a former railway line, invite visitors to experience scenic landscapes and peaceful moments.

Many paths are already accessible or easy to navigate, with more improvements underway.
