The Lusatian Lakes

F60 Visitor Mine

The F60 overburden conveyor bridge rises dramatically into the sky and is visible from miles around. Once used in opencast mining, this vast structure is now open to visitors from around the world. A monument to Lusatia's industrial heritage, the bridge is over 80 metres high and more than half a kilometre long and weighs 11,000 tonnes. Guided tours are available for people with restricted mobility and for blind or partially sighted visitors, including short tours around the excavator and the flood site. Experienced guides provide information on mining methods, the history of mining and the development of tourism at Bergheider See lake.
