Magdeburg

In 968, Emperor Otto the Grate established an new archbishopric in Magdeburg,and archeologists have since discovered spectacular artefacts. The Ottonianum Cathedral Museum presents three major topics connected to the Middle Ages of Europe: Emperor Otto the Graet with his Queen Edith, the Archbishopric of Magdeburg and unique archeological finds, including an original lead sarcophagus and intricately embroidered archbishops shoes.
