egapark Erfurt Thuringia’s most beautiful garden

Charmingly situated on the grounds of the historic Cyriaksburg fortress, egapark combines nature, garden architecture and art in a historic setting. The 36-hectare site is a listed monument and ranks among the most important examples of garden architecture from the 1960s. The park’s gardens include Europe’s largest flowerbed, as well as the Rose Garden, the Grass and Perennial Garden, the Sculpture Garden and the Japanese Garden. Thuringia’s largest playground, complete with a children’s farm and water play area, is available for young visitors. A wide range of events for young and old round off what egapark has to offer all year round.

The outdoor areas of egapark are accessible to all, with the exception of a few sections (the Japanese Garden, the Karl Foerster Garden, the nature trail and the observation tower) – as are the exhibition halls and plant show houses. The park also features a scent and touch garden for blind and visually impaired visitors. Guide dogs and assistance dogs for people with disabilities are permitted.
